HerbVenture

The HerbVenture project, supported by the Erasmus+ programme, aimed to revitalize traditional medicine knowledge, promote environmental sustainability, and foster green entrepreneurship among youth—particularly in rural and disadvantaged regions.

Motivated by the misuse of synthetic medicine and widespread misinformation on herbal remedies, the project developed scientifically supported resources and practical tools to reintroduce young people to natural medicine with a modern approach.

Key results include:

  • Digital Encyclopedia of 150 medicinal herbs, presenting their properties, uses, and traditional significance.
  • An interactive online platform featuring herb distribution maps, climate data, and conservation resources.
  • Youth Handbook on Traditional Medicine, covering literacy, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in the herbal sector.

Alongside digital tools, local workshops and an International Training Activity brought together 27 youthfor hands-on learning. Participants took part in fieldwork, nature walks with local herbalists, and sessions on eco-friendly harvesting and product development. The programme concluded with the creation and presentation of individual business plans focused on green entrepreneurship.

The project was marked by several key meetings, including the Kick-off (June 2023)International Meetings (January and September 2024), and the Final Meeting (April 2025), ensuring strong coordination and collaborative planning throughout.

All materials, including the encyclopedia, handbook, interactive maps, and workshop content, are publicly available via the project’s website.
